After two years and $8 million, Rancho Bernardo Town Center’s renovation project is a success.  Patrons can now enjoy the new early California mission architectural theme that includes traditional features with a modern twist such as authentic clay mission tile, natural stone towers, and massive timber trellises.

The Rancho Bernardo Town Center’s buildings were originally constructed in the 1970s and had yet to have an extensive exterior renovation done. Therefore, the food court received a large-scale facelift, including the addition of a sunken eating space and fire pits. Newly revamped white smooth stucco walls are now complemented by elegant wall sconces and dark wood rafters. In addition, the buildings and parking lots were brought up to compliance for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Boardwalk Development specializes in the development, leasing, and management of small, high-profile retail shopping centers. They have now completed the wide-scale renovation project that included exterior upgrades for three buildings and alterations to the outdoor eating court. Still to come is the construction of a new 5,000-square-foot building on its southern side.

Ron Bamberger, President of Boardwalk Development, states, “We appreciate the patience of the customers of Rancho Bernardo Town Center, as we understand that the parking lot and other locations have been impacted by the construction. We are happy to announce the re-grand opening of the center and can assure patrons they will be very pleased with the beautiful new look of the buildings.”
